There are victims after storming of Abkhaz MIA building

The supporters of the Abkhaz opposition, who are protesting in front of the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), made a new assault, in which some people were hurt. The protesters set fire to the cap above the entrance to the building.

Today, in Sukhumi, the opposition held a rally, demanding the resignation of the Interior Minister of Abkhazia Leonid Dzapshba, and postponement of the referendum on early elections of the head of the republic. The protesters tried to storm the MIA building, but power agents stopped them. The President Raul Khajimba held talks with oppositionists.

Around 9:00 p.m. Moscow time, the protesters began another, the third, assault of the MIA building, Izida Chaniya, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Nuzhnaya" (Needed), told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent from the venue. According to her story, the actions are headed by activists of the former ruling party "Amtsakhara".

As a result of the new storm of the building there are victims, the TASS reported at 9:41 p.m., without specifying the number of victims.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow

    A shootout took place near an office of the “Wildberries” Company in the centre of Moscow. As a result, at least one person has been killed and several others have been wounded, sources report.
