International observers 'were not invited' to Karabakh municipal elections

Chairman of the Nagorno-Karabakh Central Election Commission Sergey Davidian has noted in his interview with the Caucasian Knot correspondent that the second round of municipal elections in the Republic of Nagorny Karabakh was held on a high level. No written complaints were filed with the Election Commission in the course of the election campaign.

Commenting on the statements published by the Azerbaijan newspaper Echo that international observers allegedly ignored the municipal elections in Karabakh, Sergey Davidian officially stated that the authorities of the republic found it expedient not to invite international observers to the local government elections. At the same time, he pointed out that observers had been invited to all previous elections, taken part in them and made up positive conclusion about them.
