Kremlin supports Kadyrov in his conflict with Judge Karataev
There is nothing illegal in the circumstances of resignation of Magomed Karataev, the head of the Supreme Court of Chechnya, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 15, in Chechnya, Magomed Karataev, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the republic, said, on the local television, about the just criticism of him by Ramzan Kadyrov and apologized for the "gross violations of the law committed by the judges." Karataev also said that he "had accepted the Kadyrov's offer to resign."
As stated by Dmitry Peskov, Kadyrov, currently the acting head of Chechnya, "did not to dismiss the head of the republic's court," since Karataev, "wrote the relevant application himself."
At the same time, the press secretary of Russian President said that he "wouldn't undertake to assess the situation with Karataev's resignation from the ethical viewpoint."
In his turn, Pavel Odintsov, the head of the press service of the Supreme Court of Russia, said that they had received no resignation application from Magomed Karataev, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Chechen Republic. The issue of Karataev's dismissal "is within the exclusive competence of the judicial community," Mr Odintsov has stressed.
Earlier, Mr Karataev had claimed that Kadyrov was misled by the persons interested in discrediting the leadership of the Supreme Court. In the opinion of Mikhail Fedotov, the head of the Human Rights Council under Russian President, Kadyrov's words can be interpreted as the pressure.
