Six policemen injured in attack on checkpoint in Grozny

This morning, two armed men have attacked a checkpoint in Grozny. It was initially reported that one of the attackers committed a suicide bombing and as a result, one policeman was killed and four others were wounded. The second attacker was killed by the policemen. Later, the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) denied the report about the death of the policeman and reported on six injured policemen.

Today, an official of the press service of the Chechen MIA has reported that no policemen were killed as a result of the attack on the checkpoint.

"At the expense of their own health, the policemen have prevented two armed men from entering the city. The criminals were carrying grenades and explosive devices. According to the preliminary information, during the neutralization of the intruders, six policemen were injured. Of them, three were severely injured," the "Interfax" quotes the official of the press service of the Chechen MIA as reporting.

The today's explosion at the checkpoint in Grozny has become the first attack launched by militants against law enforcers after the attack near the Press House in Grozny committed on December 4, 2014.
