Initiative group notifies about rally in Moscow in support of three natives of Chechnya

Activists have submitted to the Moscow Mayor's Office a notification of intention to hold a rally in support of Khamid Razhapov and Tsetiev brothers, who are charged of the attack on staff members of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE). According to one of the organizers, the intention to hold the rally is motivated by the investigators' refusal to check the alibis of the defendants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Chechen residents Said-Magomed Tsetiev, Khamzat Tsetiev, and Khamid Razhapov were detained in September, 2014. Investigators believe the Chechen residents have beaten MfE's staff members in the Moscow village of Vnukovo. Advocates of the defendants filed a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), in which they reported on the refusal of the preliminary investigation authorities to verify the alibis of the defendants. The court hearings on the case are being held at the Scherbinsky Court of Moscow.

Organizers of the rally want to attract media and public attention to the violations that have been committed in the case of the beating of MfE's staff members. This was told on April 14 to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Arbi Tsetiev, one of the members of the initiative group.

Arbi Tsetiev believes that the police "detained completely innocent men" and that the case contains signs of fraud.

The organizers are planning to hold a rally in Pushkin Square on April 23. Bolotnaya Square is mentioned as an alternative venue for the rally.
