26-year-old Kadyrov's nephew appointed First Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya

The personnel changes have taken place at the Chechen government. Yakub Zakriev, a 26-year-old nephew of Ramzan Kadyrov, has been appointed the First Deputy Prime Minister. Earlier, he used to hold the post of the acting head of the secretariat of the leader of Chechnya.

Earlier, experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have stated that the Ramzan Kadyrov's personnel policy is aimed at strengthening the position of his family.

While introducing the new Deputy Prime Minister, Ramzan Kadyrov has described him "as a competent and diligent specialist with a wealth of experience," reports the website of the Chechen government.

Yakub Zakriev is a son of Zulai Kadyrova, a sister of Ramzan Kadyrov. Salman Zakriev, the father of the new Deputy Prime Minister, holds the position of the Vice-Speaker of the Chechen Parliament. The Yakub Zakriev's career began in 2013, when he was 23 years old and when he was appointed the deputy head of the administration of the Chechen leader and the Chechen government.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2013, Yakub Zakriev was transferred to the post of the chief of administration of the leader of Chechnya, succeeding his uncle Sakhab Zakriev. Since 2015, he held the post of the First Deputy Minister of Finance of Chechnya and also led the secretariat of the Chechen leader.
