Dagestani woman brought to administrative responsibility for picket in Red Square

Policemen have detained Madina Magomedova, a native of Dagestan, for holding a picket in Red Square in Moscow. The woman demanded to respect the rights of Kumyk nationals, and free Pichugin, recognized as a political prisoner.

The 51-year-old Magomedova, who lives in Germany, was taken to the Police Department of Internal Affairs for the Central Administrative District of Moscow.

On December 29, she held her solo picket with posters reading: "Russia to Russians", "Constitution is crushed and humiliated", "Freedom to Pichugin, Kremlin's prisoner" and "Kumyks' rights are violated in Dagestan". This is stated in the protocol of an administrative offense, posted in her page on the Facebook.

Alexei Pichugin, the former head of the department of internal economic security at the oil company "Yukos", was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was charged under the articles of "Murder" and "Robbery".

Magomedova, having entered the territory, "immediately adjacent to the residence of the President of the Russian Federation", violated Part 5, Article 20.2, of the Administrative Code "A violation by a participant of a public event of the established order of holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, march or picket."

The punishment under this article assumes imposition of an administrative fine of 10-20,000 roubles, or mandatory public works for up to 40 hours.

Full text of the article is available on the Russian page of 24/7 Internet agency ‘Caucasian Knot’.
