In Yerevan, woman attempts self-immolation
In Yerevan, a woman tried to commit self-immolation together with two minor children. She stays in a hospital in serious condition. The minor children were not injured. This was reported by Norair Davidyan, Director of the Centre for Radiation Medicine and Burns.
The incident occurred at the crossing of Khandjyan and Nalbandyan Streets in the Armenian capital at about 11:10 p.m. local time of November 10.
A forty-year-old woman tried to commit self-immolation in front of two- and five-year-old minor children, the "News-Armenia" quotes the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and for Emergencies as reporting.
Policemen have managed to stop the woman's attempt of self-immolation prior to the arrival of rescue team. The woman was hospitalized to the Medical Centre for Radiation Medicine and Burns, the "Armenia Today" reports.
The woman was diagnosed with burns on 19% of her body. This has been reported by Norair Davidyan, Director of the Centre for Radiation Medicine and Burns. "At present, the woman stays at the resuscitation ward. She is conscious, but she stays in shock," Norair Davidyan has explained.
The woman also tried to set on fire her two small children, but she did not have enough time to do that, the "NEWS.am" reports.
