Law officials deny information about death of Abu Bakr al-Shishani
Abu Bakr al-Shishani, a Chechen-Kist, a native of the Pankisi Gorge of Georgia, was not injured during an airstrike in Syria. This was reported by a source in the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya. According to the source, Abu Bakr al-Shishani is a close relative of Seyfullah al-Shishani (Ruslan Machalikashvili), who was killed in 2014.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 14, a Syrian military source reported that as a result of the Russian airstrike in the province of Homs in Syria, the terrorist grouping "Ahrar al-Sham" was liquidated and its leader Abu Bakr al-Shishani, a native of Chechnya, was killed.
"The real surname of Abu Bakr al-Shishani is Machalikashvili. He is a close relative of Seyfullah al-Shishani (Ruslan Machalikashvili), once well-known terrorist, liquidated last year near Aleppo in Syria," stated a source in the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya.
According to the source, the literal translation of "ash-Shishani" from the Arabic language means "from Chechnya".
"Many well-known leaders of the armed groupings in Syria are indeed ethnic Chechens; however, they are mostly natives of the Pankisi Gorge," the source has added.
Various sources, including the Russian FSB, have confirmed that militants from Russia are fighting for the "Islamic State", says the document prepared by the "Caucasian Knot": "Caucasians in the ranks of IS (ISIL)".
