Kuban residents dissatisfied with election campaign

The campaign for the election of the governor of the Krasnodar Territory (also known as Kuban, by the name of the main river) is passive, while propaganda materials of candidates for deputies are spread uncontrollably and in huge volumes, causing irritation, said local residents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 13 the Krasnodar Territory will hold, apart from the first for the last 11 years direct election of the governor, also the elections of the deputies of the City Duma of Krasnodar of the new convocation, heads of 27 rural and urban communities, and members of municipal bodies. According to the movement for voters' rights "Golos", the PARNAS Party, the "Great Fatherland", "Russia's Revival" and "Russia's Veterans" Parties could not register a single candidate.

Huge amounts of leaflets and other campaign materials are bombarding doorways of houses, said Yuri Levitin, an engineer and a resident of Krasnodar.

According to pensioner Nadezhda Kushkina, there is practically no agitation as such seen in city streets. She knows no other candidates apart from the communist Nikolai Osadchiy and Veniamin Kondratiev from the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party.

Since the election of the governor is extraordinary, there was no serious preparation for them, explained the campaign headquarters of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).

Posters, which "scold the previous authorities" will not be understood by people uninterested in politics, said Alexander Topalov, an assistant of Robert Schlegel, a Russian State Duma MP from the "Edinaya Rossiya".
