Ramzan Kadyrov: Committee against Torture provoked attack on its office

Staff members of the Committee against Torture are not engaged in human rights activities, and they themselves have provoked the attack on their office "in order to receive more US grants." This was stated by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, in Grozny, during the rally in front of the office of the Joint Mobile Group (JMG), unidentified men smashed the car of the rights defenders and destroyed the JMG's office and apartment. According to the Committee against Torture, its staff members managed to escape, and they are out of danger.

"The analysis of the events gives us the reason to conclude that the staff members of the Committee have deliberately provoked the incident with the purpose to be once more highlighted by the global media and to obtain new US grants," the Chechen leader wrote on his page on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Ramzan Kadyrov has expressed his concern over the fact that "those people, who are not engaged in human rights activities, systematically create a tense atmosphere and try to provoke mass riots in Grozny."
