In Chechnya, schoolboy beaten at USE centre

While being on duty at the centre of the United State Examination (USE) in Chechnya, law enforcers beat up a 16-year-old schoolboy, broke his nose, and injured his jaw. This was reported by a relative of the teenager. Local residents have confirmed the information.

On May 29, the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot" received a message from a relative of a 16-year-old senior schoolboy. According to the author of the SMS-message, the teenager completed his exam, and he was waiting for his classmate in the hallway, when one of the law enforcers on duty in the building approached him and "began to rudely expel him from the building." The teenager "answered in a calm manner that he understood and that he was about to come out"; however, the law enforcer continued to threaten him. The schoolboy asked the law enforcer not to be rude to him, and the latter started to beat him, the author of the SMS-message reported. According to the source, other law enforcers also began to beat the schoolboy, and in total, the teenager was beaten by seven men. As a result, the schoolboy "got broken nose and a crack in his jaw."

"People, who were invited to keep order and discipline, began to behave like bandits. When teenager's classmates ran to them to help their friend, the law enforcers turn their pistols on them," writes the source in the SMS-message.

According to a leader of one of the local public organizations, who preferred to remain anonymous, relatives of the victim refuse to comment on the situation.
