Leaders of NKR's oppositional parties complain about authorities' pressure on voters

The authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) put pressure on voters and actively used their administrative resources during the elections, said the leaders of the oppositional parties "National Revival" and "Movement-88".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the vote at the parliamentary elections was held in the NKR on May 3. The three parties represented in the parliament and four oppositional ones ran for the MP seats.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the NKR, in the National Assembly, the "Free Homeland" Party will have 15 seats, the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" – seven seats, the "Democratic Party of Artsakh" – six seats, the "Movement-88" – two seats, and one seat will belong to the "National Revival".

As stated by Ike Khanumyan, the chairman of the "National Revival", during the race for the parliament "the pro-government parties used their administrative resources" and "attacked members of his party in social networks." On the voting day, according to Khanumyan, his proxies at polling stations in the city of Martuni "were exposed to moral pressure".

According to his story, in the NKR's parliament, the "National Revival" will "work towards raising the public consciousness and self-organization of the society."

The observers, who arrived from European countries to monitor the elections in the NKR, noted that the elections were held in compliance with international democratic standards.
