US students support Khadija Ismayilova

The Azerbaijani journalist Khadija Ismayilova has been put on the list of nine arrested media professionals, whose names will be engraved on bracelets within the campaign "Press without Handcuffs", organized by the journalist Dana Priest and American students.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Khadija Ismayilova, a staff member of the Azerbaijani office of "Radio Liberty", is accused of inciting her former colleague Tural Mustafaev to a suicide attempt.

The campaign "Press without Handcuffs" is held by students of the University of Maryland, USA, Fariz Namazly, an Ismayilova's advocate, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Within the campaign, they will make bracelets with engraved names of most well-known journalists arrested in the world. Among other names, the bracelets will bear the name of Khadija Ismayilova. This is another important indicator of increased international attention to the fate of Khadija and belief in her innocence," said Namazly.

Apart from Khadija Ismayilova, bracelets will have engraved names of Ammar Abdulrasola (Bahrain), Mahmoud Abu Zeid (Egypt), Reeyota Alemu (Ethiopia), Bheki Makhubu (Swaziland), Ta Pnong Tan (Vietnam), Jason Rezaian (Iran), Yusif Ruzimiradov (Uzbekistan) and Ilham Tohti (China).
