Omarov beaten up in Dagestan hospitalized in Moscow with broken collarbone and brain concussion

Gadjimurad Omarov, the Chairman of the Board of the Dagestani Branch of the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (Fair Russia) Party, has been hospitalized to the N. Sklifosovsky Research Institute in Moscow. Doctors plan to operate on his collarbone.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Omarov was beaten up on February 21 in Makhachkala after the reporting-electing conference of the party regional branch. Omarov later said that after the incident he decided to go to Moscow for treatment.

Immediately after his flight to Moscow, Omarov turned to the on duty unit of the Basmanny police department, where he stated the attack on him, said Ruslan Rasulov, the chief of staff of the party regional branch.

"Doctors examined him and found a broken collarbone, brain concussion, eye injury and multiple injuries of the face and body. Now his condition is stable, with an improvement," said Rasulov.

Let us remind you that the information about the beating of Omarov arrived at the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot" on February 21 at 4:58 p.m. Moscow time. "The party branch had its congress; towards the end of it policemen arrived and drove all the people out, saying about some bomb, allegedly planted there. Then, Omarov was beaten up by some the young guys," wrote the author of the message. The Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) confirmed that policemen arrived because of the received message about a bomb; however, it was a false alarm.
