On January 5, Ingushetia starts compiling list of IDPs from Chechnya to be granted apartments in new house

On January 5, the Ingush authorities are to start compiling preliminary lists of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to be granted apartments in one of four new houses in the village of Yandare of the Nazran District.

Until December 29, 2014, the waiting list included more than 1500 families of IDPs from Chechnya to receive housing. Meanwhile, on December 29, the first IDPs took part in a drawing procedure to take 63 apartments of a newly built house and moved into their new apartments. Within the next several weeks, other 196 IDPs from the waiting list are to be granted housing in new houses, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by an official from the Ministry of External Relations, National Policy, Press and Information of Ingushetia.

The programme of resettlement of IDPs is to be implemented until the end of 2016, and all the IDPs included in the waiting list are to receive their private apartments, the "Caucasian Knot" was informed by an official from Ingush government.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 11, 2013, 20 IDPs living in barracks in the village of Yandare declared hunger strike demanding from the authorities to provide them with housing in accordance with the applicable law.
