In Nalchik, seven persons detained at liquidation of gambling club

In the course of an operation aimed to liquidate an underground gambling club in the city of Nalchik, the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), agents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) arrested seven men who, according to policemen, hampered their actions and behaved aggressively.

On November 19, in the course of inspecting the premises at No. 96a in Akhokhov Street in Nalchik, operative agents discovered a secret room, where they saw 10 gaming machines and nine motherboards, intended for gambling.

When policemen began taking the gaming equipment out of the premises, a group of young men approached the clubhouse. They used foul language against the policemen, prevented them to do their work; one of the youngsters punched an OMON agent in his chest. Then, the whole group attacked the law enforcers; and seven young men were detained by police, says the website of the Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier about operations conducted by law enforcers aimed at stopping illegal gambling clubs in the KBR. One such operation was carried out in Nalchik in October 2013.

Authorities banned gaming establishments in the KBR back in 2007.
