Yerevan condemns terror act committed in Armenian Church in Syrian Deir ez-Zor
Armenia strongly condemns the terror act committed in the Church "Srbots Naatakats" in the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor, where remains of victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 and the important documents on the Armenian Genocide were stored. This was stated by Edward Nalbandyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
In his blog "Armenian Chronicles" on the "Caucasian Knot", the user with the nickname Kornelij wrote that the terrorist grouping "Islamic State" mined and blew up the Armenian Church in the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor.
The information about explosion in the church was disseminated by a number of foreign news agencies on September 21, the "News-Armenia" reports.
"This act of appalling barbarity against the sanctuary demonstrates the ferocity of the terrorist grouping named 'Islamic State'," said the Armenian Foreign Minister.
