Human rights organization Sintar joins collection of signatures for interim UN administration in Chechnya

1,618 signatures under the appeal For an Interim United Nations Administration in Chechnya were collected and handed over to the leaders of the Russian Radicals movement  by March 28, reported the human rights organization Sintar. The organization's activists collected the signatures in the Achkhoy-Martan, Sunzha and Urus-Martan districts of Chechnya, in Grozny, and in the tent camps Satsita, Sputnik and Rassvet in Ingushetia.

The head of the human rights organization Sintar, Sulumbek Tashtamirov, said: "We have been collecting signatures under the appeal for about two months. And we will continue this work in future. Our activists have to do more than just collect the signatures. They have to perform explanatory work. There is an information blockade in Chechnya, and a lot of Chechens have not even heard of Ilyas Akhmadov's peace plan. We believe this plan is the one which can lead to the cessation of longstanding bloodshed. We are convinced the international administration of the United Nations will seek for peace and stability in Chechnya, and the Chechen people will support such an aspiration. We thank the Transnational Radical Party, Russian radicals, and all people of good will who advocate the establishment of the interim UN administration in Chechnya."
