Field commander Nurdi Bazhiyev's brother found dead in Grozny
The dead body of Abu Bazhiyev, who was abducted by unknown gunmen in masks from his own flat in the Staropromislovsky district of Grozny on March 16, was found at a trash dump in the Oktyabrsky district of the Chechen capital on March 18. Abu Bazhiyev was a brother of field commander Nurdi Bazhiyev, who was killed in the summer of 1997. Abu, like his brother, took part in the resistance movement but voluntarily surrendered in the spring of 2000 and was amnestied by Russian authorities. Besides, Abu Bazhiyev worked for the commission for pardons under Kadyrov.
