Zurab Zhvania declares elections in Adjaria valid, Aslan Abashidze calls them tendentious

On March 29, Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania declared the elections in Adjaria valid, "in spite of some violations". He had had talks with the head of the autonomous republic, Aslan Abashidze, in Batumi till 4 a.m.

In his turn, Aslan Abashidze told journalists after that meeting "the elections not only in Adjaria but all over Georgia were tendentious as both the media and non-government organizations had put pressure on the voters in favor of the ruling party."

Aslan Abashidze holds the presence of Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania in Adjaria during the elections were "a kind of agitation for the Georgian authorities."
