KBR: Syrian student Nart Abaza challenges his residence permit annulment
In the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), Nart Abaza, a student from Syria, had gone to the Nalchik City Court (NCC) against the cancellation of his residence permit.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a decision was made in relation to three students from Syria, detained on February 7 in Nalchik near the venue of the action against the Olympic Games in Sochi, to deport them from Russia. By decision of the NCC and department for visas and registration, the students Atakhman Ayal and Stas Yaser should be deported within 15 days. On February 11, the above department decided to deport Nart Abaza and annul his residence permit.
The formal reasons for deportation were found in various problems with students' documents. In particular, with respect to Abaza, the decision was based on a three-day delay to extend his visa by the State University of the KBR back in 2010.
"I intend to defend my right to live in my historic homeland. I'm not to blame of what they want to deport me for. The visa extension was on the University," Nart Abaza said in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, expressing hope that the court would treat him fairly.
