Izobilny
Rayon (sector) centre in Stavropol kray (region), 65 km north-west of Stavropol. Located in Ciscaucasia, In the northern end of the Stavropol Upland. Railway station in the Kavkazskaya - Elista line. Motor road junction. Population (1992 est.) 33.6 thousand, (1979 est.) 29.1 thousand.
In 1965, the village of Izobilnoye was transformed into the town of Izobilny. Agricultural centre. At the beginning of the 1990s, The town had a cannery, a sugar-refinery, a butter-and-cheese factory, a repair and engineering factory, a concrete product plant, a meat-and-poultry processing plant.
