In Krasnodar, investigators question all earlier detained Circassian activists, Aslan Beshto reports

The Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for the Krasnodar Territory has questioned six Circassian activists, who were detained in the territory of Adygea, Karachay-Cherkessia, and Kabardino-Balkaria. Besides, they also questioned Arambiy Khapai, ex-Chairman of the movement "Adyge Khase-Circassian Parliament" of Adygea. This was stated by Aslan Beshto, ex-Chairman of the movement in Abkhazia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 13, law enforcers forcibly brought to Krasnodar at least eight Circassian and Abazin activists from Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, and Adygea.

According to Aslan Beshto, interrogations mainly related to social activities of the activists. He has added that the activists have developed their position concerning the Sochi Olympic Games. "The position of those people is in tune with mine. It lies in the fact that we cannot support it and we cannot openly protest against it. We chose to simply ignore the Olympic Games," Aslan Beshto has concluded.

The "Caucasian Knot" was told by Ibragim Yaganov, Chairman of the public movement "Khase", that the questioning took place in a polite manner. "It was not even a questioning, but a discussion. We discussed issues related to the Sochi Olympic Games, then switched to the Circassian Cultural Centre in Tbilisi. We talked about our activities on the Internet, our websites, and everything we write there," Ibragim Yaganov has clarified.

At the same time, according to him, searches in his apartment and the apartment of his parents "were conducted in rude manner." According to Ibragim Yaganov, the searches and detentions "are related to the upcoming Olympic Games."
