In Astrakhan, action of "Strategy 31" attended by about 20 persons
On October 31, in Astrakhan, near the monument "To Fighters for Soviet Power" in the Bratsky Park, a traditional action was held within the "Strategy 31". The action was attended by more than 20 persons, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Let us remind you that that in Astrakhan, people hold actions in defence of Article 31 of the Constitution, which gives citizens the right to freely and peacefully assemble to express their opinions, starting from July 2009. On every 31st of the month with the above date, the opposition held similar actions within the "Strategy 31" in other Russian cities. Earlier, such actions were stopped by the police.
The action of October 31 was attended by democrats of the first wave, activists of The Other Russia, the Astrakhan regional public association (ARPA) "Otchizna" (Fatherland), the People's Patriotic Movement (PPM) "Russians of Astrakhan", the Astrakhan youth association "Young Russia", and civil society activists. The main topic of discussion was the "Russian March" to be held in the city on November 4, which is officially sanctioned by the city authorities.
Sergey Kozhanov, the leader of the regional branch of The Other Russia, has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that this year, The Other Russia officially declared its support of the "Russian March".
