In Dagestan, hearing on Sapiyat Magomedova's lawsuit postponed until September 23

The Sovietsky Court of Makhachkala has postponed – till September 23, because of non-appearance of the prosecutor, – the consideration of the complaint of the lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova against the investigators who had stopped the criminal case on her beating in the building of the Khasavyurt OVD (Interior Division).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported with reference to Magomedova that on June 17, 2010, she was beaten by two OVD agents. On July 1, 2010, a criminal case was opened on her application. The agents had stated, in their turn, that Sapiyat was the first to attack them. On July 2, 2010, a criminal case was initiated against Magomedova herself.

The first court session on September 6 ended with a request to Magomedova to present the petitions and judicial decisions concerning her complaints against illegal merging of the two cases. Today, Magomedova has presented, prior to the session, Judge Gasangusein Guseinov with the said documents in 112 pages, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The judge said that he would examine the documents and ruled to continue the trial on September 23, since the public prosecutor Vitaly Morozov and a representative of the investigation failed to appear at the courtroom today.
