New movement unites Georgian NGOs

The National Movement "Board of Trustees of Georgia" has been created in Georgia. It unites about 130 non-government organizations (NGOs). The organization is going to take active part in the development of the Georgian state, announced the head of the Board of Trustees, Nika Gelashvili, on March 21.

"The organization has its own program of the country's constructive development, which has been drawn up by a group of experts and is expected to be submitted to the country's government for consideration," Mr Gelashvili said. "The program stipulates participation of NGO activists in the process of preparing and adopting state decisions," he noted.

The presentation of the National Movement "Board of Trustees of Georgia" is to take place in Tbilisi in April 2004.
