A decision on the statement of beating up a builder in Sochi by the policemen will be taken within a month, a representative of Committee of Inquiry of Russia reported

The investigation is carrying out an inspection on the statement of beating up builder Mardiros Demerchyan in the police department of the settlement of Blinovo of Sochi, representative of Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry of Russia (CIR) in Krasnodar region Ivan Sengerov reported.

It should be reminded that builder Mardiros Demerchyan was detained by the police and on June, 13, taken from the police department of the settlement of Blinovo to neuro-surgical unit of municipal hospital No 4. In his interview to the “Caucasian Knot” Demerchyan said that he underwent torture in the police department. Demerchyan’s attorney submitted a statement to the police and investigative bodies, however, by June, 17, no decision of initiating a criminal case or dismissal of the motion was taken.

Investigator of Investigative Department of CIR in Adler district Artem Semenets commissioned Adler Department of the Bureau of forensic medical expertise No 2 with carrying out forensic medical examination.

The officials of municipal hospital No 4 declined comment referring to medical secrecy.

“Severity of punishment to those guilty and their custody terms will directly depend on the gravity and type of my client’s bodily injury”, Demerchyan’s attorney Alexander Boichenko said adding that delay in referring the documents made him fear of forgery.
