Sochi residents are dissatisfied with police's work during holidays
During the first days of 2013, residents of Sochi report about violations of public order in the city, illegal felling of trees and other accidents; they express discontent over the inadequate police reactions to their complaints.
For several months already, the shopping centre "Sea Mall" is notable at night for noise created by cars that is disturbing the locals, said Vera Ilyina, a resident of Tsvetnoy Boulevard. "The whole neighbourhood cannot sleep. It was especially noisy on the New Year's night. I called the police on 02, but no reaction."
The fact that after opening of the "Sea Mall" the noise from its car park is disturbing the sleep of local residents was confirmed by Olga Lazareva, who lives in Tchaikovsky Street.
Her neighbour Irina Savushkina told about her repeated appeals on this issue to the GAI (road traffic inspectorate). "I was told that it was none of their business; and I should call the police. However, the latter did nothing. Our quiet and beautiful district has turned into hell."
In general, the New Year holiday passed quietly in Sochi, with no serious crimes and offenses, the press service of the Sochi UVD (Interior Department) reports.
