Georgia's MIA: South-Ossetian authorities release six Georgian villagers

As reported today by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia, six Georgian citizens detained at the administrative border with South Ossetia have been released.

According to the press service, the Georgian citizens were released as a result of intensive negotiations, conducted by the analytical department of the MIA and its headquarters in Shida Kartli with officials of South Ossetia.

These people were detained at different times, from September 2012 to March 2013, for illegally crossing the border with South Ossetia, the Georgian MIA has explained.

According to the MIA of Georgia all the detainees were residents of the villages adjacent to South Ossetia, namely, Malkhaz Titvelashvili, Givi Iluridze, Vakhtang Baliashvili, David Vatiashvili, Ramaz Bakhturidze and Maya Bakhturidze, the IA "News-Georgia" reports.

Tskhinvali officials have released the detained Georgian citizens within the last 10 days, the "Interfax" quotes the Georgia's MIA.
