Power agents search for militants near Chechen-Ingush administrative border

Law enforcers of Chechnya are conducting a special operation against militants in the mountains and forests of the Achkhoi-Martan District, near the administrative border with Ingushetia.

"The operation takes place away from dwelling settlements by local law enforcement units and Interior Troops of the Russian MIA," a local power officer told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, there is operative information that "in the woods near the Chechen-Ingush administrative border several small bandit groupings can be hiding".

The officer said the militants are actively mining the terrain, which seriously impedes power agents' action. Only within one week, in the woods near the village of Bamut, located just a few kilometres away from the administrative border with Ingushetia, six law enforcers were wounded by explosions of landmines.
