In Kabardino-Balkaria, climber from Poland perished near Ukyu Mount

Today, a climber from Poland fell from one of the mountains in Kabardino-Balkaria and died.

According to the press service of the North-Caucasian Regional Centre of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), the group was listed on the post of the Elbrus rescue team, and it included four citizens of Poland and one citizen of Israel.

On October 1, they came to the alpine camp "Bezengi", and on October 3, they arrived in the gorge for a training climbing to the top of the Ukyu Mount. Today, the tourists contacted the rescue team via satellite phone and reported that one of the participants of the climbing fell down from a height of 500 meters and that they started to go down to him for help.

At 02:00 p.m., the group again used the satellite phone and reported that the victim was found without signs of life.
