Red Cross allocates 10 million roubles to help 1000 families, affected by Kuban flooding
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (ICRC) has allocated 300,000 Swiss francs (about 9.9 million roubles) to render operational assistance to 1,000 families (2,500 persons), affected by the flooding in the Krasnodar Territory.
According to the press service of the public organization "Russian Red Cross", the ICRC has also prepared for shipment to Kuban more than 15,000 bottles of disinfectant gel. Besides, the organization is preparing to send from its warehouse in Nalchik the goods for assistance to 500 affected families in the form of non-food items kitchen utensils, disinfectants and hygiene kits for a total amount of 50,000 Swiss francs (about 1.6 million roubles), the "Interfax" reports.
In its turn, "Pochta Rossii" (Russia's Post Service) organized free shipping of parcels with humanitarian aid and donation remittances from the population to the persons, affected by the flooding in the Krasnodar Territory.
According to the statement of the "Pochta Rossii", free shipping parcels could contain personal care products, detergents and disinfectants, cheap mobile phones, bedding, towels, pillows, blankets, clothing, and footwear.
Parcels with humanitarian aid should be sent to the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of the Krasnodar Territory, and they should bear an inscription "humanitarian aid". Parcels are accepted in the open form to prevent sending of second hand items.
The Russia's Post Service will also charge no fees for the remittances in favour of the affected persons. Funds should be sent to the Krasnodar Regional Branch of the "Russian Red Cross", the RIA "Novosti" reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that collection and dispatch of humanitarian aid in favour of victims of the flooding are organized in several regions of the southern Russia, in particular, North Ossetia, the Rostov Region, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, the Stavropol Territory, Dagestan, the Volgograd Region and Karachay-Cherkessia. Actions to pay tribute to the memory of victims of the flooding and to render assistance to people, affected by the disaster, were also organized in Moscow. Georgia also offered its assistance.
Let us remind you that on July 7, the meeting in the city of Krymsk, attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, decided that the victims of the flooding in Kuban would get, starting from July 9, the compensations, amounting to 10,000, 50,000 and 100,000 roubles, and each family of the casualties would be paid 2 million roubles.
The government of the Russian Federation will allocate 3.8 billion roubles from the federal budget of Kuban to render assistance to victims of flooding.
