Over 30 children got poisoned in camp near Astrakhan
Today, more than 30 children, who were taking their rest in the Astrakhan children's camp "Chudotvory", asked for medical help with symptoms of food poisoning. 14 of them were hospitalized.
"A group appeal for medical care was registered of a group of children with signs of dysfunction of the digestive system: infrequent vomiting, infrequent stool – unexpressed intoxication. In total, 31 persons were complaining. As of 4:00 p.m., out of 25 children brought to the regional infectious clinical hospital for detailed diagnosing, 14 ones were hospitalized," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the regional Ministry of Public Health.
According to the ministry, the children's condition is closer to satisfactory, 13 of them are under surveillance; only one girl is in the state of moderate gravity.
Units of the territorial centre of disaster medicine and specialists and technicians of the local "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision) branch were sent to the children's camp. Presumably, there was a violation of some cooking technology.
So far, there are no comments of the camp staff in connection with the incident.
