Oppositionists, detained in Krasnodar, released pending trial
Two opposition activists, who were detained today in Krasnodar, are charged of violating the order of organizing the rally and disobeying the police. They are released pending trial.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, in Chistyakovskaya Grove of Krasnodar, within the All-Russian action "March of Millions", the activists from the public and the Krasnodar Regional Branch of the "Left-Wing Front" and the "Yabloko" Party held a rally. The event was held without incidents. Then, a group of the participants of the protest action approached the monument to the Cossacks near the regional administration building, where two persons were detained.
According to witnesses, initially, the police detained activist Yegor Laskin, who was sitting near the monument with a balloon with an inscription reading: "Putin, fly away." After some time, activist Viktor Chirikov was detained.
Meanwhile, Viktor Chirikov and Yegor Laskin themselves and other protesters stress that the detainees were not located next to each other and that they did not conduct any public action.
Suren Gazaryan, the activist of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus", also witnessed detentions, and then the policemen tried to detain him.
At the same time, the Krasnodar policemen deny an attempt to detain Suren Gazaryan.
Originally, it was planned to hold detainees till the tomorrow's trial; however, later, both activists were released. Meanwhile, they are obliged to appear at the trial, which date has not been mentioned till present.
