South Ossetia presents literary almanac of South-Caucasian writers
On June 8, the city of Tskhinvali hosted a presentation of the second issue of the literary and publicist almanac of the writers of Southern Caucasus.
The presentation of the second issue of the almanac was also held in Baku on March 15, in Yerevan on March 19, in Stepanakert on March 21 and in Tbilisi on May 29.
"The very idea of the almanac is very interesting, because it acquaints us with the literary processes in the neighbouring countries," said Irina Gagloeva, the president of the South-Ossetian Media Centre "Ir".
The almanac contains the works of famous writers, and gives way to young ones-starting writers from Southern Caucasus, said Marina Chibirova, Minister of Education of South Ossetia and a member of the editorial board of the literary and journalistic almanac "Southern Caucasus", the "Res" writes.
The guests from the South-Ossetian State University (SOSU) have reported that in 2012 they open the Department of Ossetian-Russian Philology, which should address the shortage of specialists, the "Echo of the Caucasus" reports.
