Inspectors would not associate Magomed Cherkesov's murder with his son's case
The murder of Magomed Cherkesov, 68, the father of Aslan Cherkesov, who had been sentenced to 20 years in prison for murdering the football fan Yegor Sviridov, was committed on selfish motives, and in no way related to the case of his son, said a source from investigatory authorities.
As reported by the Baksan Inter-District Investigatory Division of the ICRF for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), the murder of Magomed Cherkesov was committed for selfish motives; the killer was arrested and confessed of the crime.
"The suspect wanted to sell Magomed's car and pay off his debts," said the representative of the investigation.
"We don't want to point in vain to someone," Anna Cherkesova, Aslan Cherkesov's sister told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent and added that the family were still unaware about what happened; they knew only that her father's body was found in the village of Kuba-Taba.
So far, there are no comments of the detainee in connection with the murder of Magomed Cherkesov.
