Defendants in case on torture at Ingush MIA to demand new handwriting examination

Nazir Guliev and Ilez Nalgiev, employees of the MIA of Ingushetia, accused of torturing their detainees, demand a repeated commission examination of the handwriting of the three witnesses who refused from their signatures to the evidences given during the investigation, said Magomed Magomadov, their advocate.

At the session on April 5, the court satisfied the defence's motion on a repeated examination of handwriting of the witnesses Adam Nagadiev and Yakhya Kostoev. At the session on June 4, the court announced the results of examination of their signatures, where experts came to the conclusion that the signatures were real.

According to the lawyer Magomed Magomadov, Nazir Guliev and Ilez Nalgiev disagreed with the outcomes of the above examination of the handwriting. "At the next court session we plan to move a petition to hold a repeated examination by a commission," said Magomadov.

One of the above witnesses Adam Nagadiev is also unhappy with the results of the examination; he believes that the investigator signed the protocol instead of him. "I do not know what is written in the protocol; and I didn't sign it," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The next court sessions on the case are expected on June 13, 14 and 15.
