Kislovodsk: paediatrician suspected of infant's death
In Kislovodsk, the criminal case was instituted against the paediatrician, who failed to assign necessary medical treatment for a 6-month-old infant, and that fact resulted in the infant's death. This was reported by the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in the Stavropol Territory.
According to investigators, on November 6, 2011, the mother of the 6-month-old boy called "ambulance" because of his poor health state.
"The paediatrician, who arrived on call, failed to fully consider the complaints and the anamnesis of the disease; he failed to hospitalize the boy and to assign necessary medical treatment. As a result, November 9, 2011, the boy died at home from generalized viral and bacterial infection," states the report of the Investigatory Department of the ICRF in the Stavropol Territory, received by the "Caucasian Knot" edition office.
The doctor is suspected of having committed a crime under Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation causing death by negligence as a result of improper performance of one's professional duties. The investigation into the criminal case is underway.
