Chechnya: mosque Imams are checked
Representatives of the Muftiate of the Chechen Republic are checking the work of imams of local mosques.
"District supervisors in the Muftiate are auditing the work of Imams, since recently complaints have arrived from individual regions and localities. They primarily deal with the commission of the morning and night namaz in the mosques," - said an official from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Chechnya.
According to his story, some Imams, as it turned out, fail to come to the morning and night namaz.
"An Imam should be present at his workplace – the mosque – during the prayers, because it's not only his duty, but his commitment before the Almighty. The fact that some of them are negligent in their duties is unacceptable. Therefore, certain measures of influence to force them to perform their duties will be taken in respect of negligent imams," said the source.
