The court released Dmitry Pavliuchenkov involved in Politkovskaya's murder from custody
Basmanny court of Moscow released from custody Dmitry Pavliuchenkov involved in the murder of observer on "Novaya Gazeta" Anna Politkovskaya. The defendant will now be under house arrest.
Earlier, Pavliuchenkov's defense appealed to the investigation asking to alter his preventive punishment from custody to house arrest. The investigation granted the motion of the defense and took a favorable decision, Dmitry Pavliuchenkov's attorney Karen Nersisyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
He reminded that his client suffered from grave illnesses which became the reason for his release from custody.
Today Basmanny court of Moscow granted the motion of the defense and investigation and mitigated Pavliuchenkov's preventive punishment to house arrest.
It also became known that the criminal case against the supposed organizer of journalist Anna Politkovlkaya's murder Dmitry Pavliuchenkov was singled out into a detached proceeding, "Russian Agency of Legal and Juridical Information" reports.
