In Dagestan, judicial investigation completed at trial of policemen who beat teenager
The debates of the parties at the trial of the policeman Magomed Magomedov, accused of beating a 14-year-old boy, are scheduled for June 1. Perhaps, on the same day the sentence will be imposed, said the victim's advocate.
At the court session on May 25, the court questioned the witnesses and examined written materials of the case, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
According to the lawyer Aziz Kurbanov, who is defending the interests of the victim – Makhmud Akhmedov, – almost all the witnesses, who saw the beaten boy in the building of the Shamil OVD, have confirmed their evidences given at the preliminary investigation and during the first trial.
The only witness, who refused from his words – Musa Magomedov, – said that he saw nothing. The court read out his former evidence given during the investigation; and he explained the contradictions by the fact that he had signed the protocol of interrogation without reading it.
After questioning the witnesses, the court examined the conclusions of forensic medical examinations, the protocols of the confrontation, and other documents. According to Aziz Kurbanov, the examination of evidences is over.
"The next session is scheduled for June 1. The court will start the debates. Perhaps, the sentence will be announced on that very day," said the lawyer.
