Sochi: policemen detain over 250 participants of mass brawl

Today, more than 250 persons were taken to police stations of Sochi after a conflict that burst out between local residents and visiting builders. One policeman was hurt, the city UVD (Interior Department) has reported.

According to the UVD, the police managed to prevent a mass brawl between the residents of the village of Chereshnya, Adler District, and those of the construction camp, located near the village.

"A group of aggressively minded men gathered at the entrance to the camp, inhabited by builders, and tried to start a fight. Promptly after receipt of the information, the quick-response police units arrived in place. They stopped the violation of public order and detained the most active offenders. As a result, over 250 persons were taken to the police stations to decide their prosecution in accordance with the law," said the website of the Sochi UVD.

The conflict has hurt one policeman, who received medical aid on the spot. Nobody was hurt from among the participants of the conflict, the "Yuga.ru" portal reports.
