Makhachkala hosts spontaneous rally against kidnapping of Gadji Mustafaev
In the rural settlement of Krasnoarmeisk of the Kirov District of Makhachkala, local residents gathered near the mosque building to protest against kidnapping of Gadji Mustafaev, a local resident.
Let us remind you that today, Magomed Mustafaev, the father of the kidnapped man, reported on kidnapping of Gadji Mustafaev by unidentified men in camouflage and masks.
"About 40 men gathered near the mosque to discuss the kidnapping, which occurred today in broad daylight. Unidentified men in masks kidnapped Gadji Mustafaev, who was not registered at the police station and was not involved in anything illegal," a local resident told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"Like never before, my son did not respond to phone calls for a long time, and we were worried. Later, we received information from a woman, who witnessed beating and kidnapping of Gadji," said Magomed Mustafaev, the father of the kidnapped man.
At least two persons saw the kidnapping taking place. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Svetlana Isaeva, Chair of the organization "Mothers of Dagestan".
"Relatives of Gadji Mustafaev appealed to our organization. They believe that Gadji is kept at law enforcement agencies; at present, the villagers gather at the local mosque to discuss further actions," said the human rights activist.
Svetlana Isaeva emphasized that, according to the relatives' information, "the kidnapped man had been under surveillance for two weeks." "A VAZ-2114 car followed him, and he even reported on that fact to the local district police inspector," said Svetlana Isaeva. According to the human right activist, two Lada Priora cars of black colour were involved in the kidnapping.
The district police inspector of the rural settlement of Krasnoarmeisk, who introduced himself as Nariman, confirmed that Gadji Mustafaev contacted him prior to his kidnapping. "He came to me and said that he was being watched," the district police inspector told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The policeman refused to disclose the circumstances of the conversation and said that he "had already told everything the father of Gadji."
