Dagestani Ministry of Justice fails to sanction rally against arbitrariness of law enforcement bodies
The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Dagestan (RD) refused to sanction rally against the arbitrariness of law enforcement bodies planned to be held on May 28 in Makhachkala. This was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by the Ministry of Justice.
Earlier, Elena Denisenko, the staff member of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", reported that on May 28, in Makhachkala, the rally, organized by the HRC "Memorial", the human rights organization "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy), lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova, and Burliyat Danilina, the mother of Timur Danilin, who disappeared on March 25, would be held.
However, at the press service of the Dagestani Ministry of Justice, in the Internet, there was information that on May 28, 2012, in Makhachkala, the rally against arbitrariness of law enforcement bodies would be held; however, the rally was not sanctioned.
"The Ministry of Justice of the RD considered an application submitted by Elena Denisenko to hold the rally and issued an answer about its non-compliance with the requirements of the Federal Law No. 54-FZ dated June 19, 2004, 'On Assemblies, Rallies, Demonstrations, Processions, and Pickets' to notification on carrying out a public event," explained the Ministry of Justice.
