Employees of Dendrologic park in Sochi went on a hunger strike because of non-payment of wages
On May, 22, four employees of Dendrologic park "Southern Cultures" in Adler district of Sochi went on a hunger strike because of non-payment of wages, leader of local branch of KPRF Yury Dzagania reported.
"We have not received wages for over two years and see no way out but a hunger strike", one of the participants of the action said.
He added that four guards of the park were on a hunger strike at the moment, "Interfax" reports.
The personnel of the park are people of pre-retirement age, First Secretary of City committee of KPRF Yury Dzagania pointed out. According to him, they did not wish to lose their jobs before retirement, therefore they went on working in spite of non-payment of wages, "Rosbalt" reports.
Dzagania explained that disruption of the park founded over one hundred years ago started since about 2008.
"The territories in this district of Adler were given over to Deripaska in exchange for construction of a seaport and an airport. The persons in charge of privatization considered it beneficial to build hotels for the guests of the city there and the park turned out to be unnecessary, just the same as the people", he declared.
