ICRF: teenager was killed by shell explosion in Volgograd
Death of a 16-year-old teenager in Volgograd was caused by explosion of a World War II shell. This was reported by representative of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
Let us remind you that the incident occurred at about 3:00 p.m. Moscow time in the residential settlement named after Maxim Gorky. The explosion killed the teenager: he got serious injuries and died from them in hospital without regaining consciousness.
"The shell was found by aunt of the deceased boy. According to her, she found it not far from their housing. The woman brought the dangerous finding to the house to take it later to a metal reception point. The teenager decided to clean the shell from dirt and hit it with a hammer, and that stroke caused the explosion," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the senior investigator of the Investigatory Department of the Soviet District of the ICRF in Volgograd Region. The official has added that the teenager did not live just several days to celebrate his birthday.
The aunt of the teenager got minor burns and scratches.
