In Azerbaijan, oppositionist Elnur Medjidli released from prison
In the evening of May 15, in Baku, Elnur Medjidli, the activist of the youth organization of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), was released from prison.
At visiting session held at the colony No. 17, the Khazar District Court granted a motion for mitigation of sentence filed by Elnur Medjidli and pronounced conditional early relief (CER). This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Elnur Medjidli himself in a brief conversation on phone immediately after his release from prison.
Elnur Medjidli expressed his gratitude to representatives of local and international democratic communities for their support throughout the time that he was kept in custody. Elnur Medjidli wished soonest release to all other activists, who, like him, were recognized by the international organization "Amnesty International" as "prisoners of conscience".
