Celebration of Victory Day in Nagorno-Karabakh lasted several days
Over one thousand foreign tourists, a delegation from Armenia headed by President of the republic Serzh Sargsyan and representatives of Armenian diaspora abroad came to Nagorno-Karabakh to take part in celebrations timed to May, 9.
May, 9, is a triple holiday for Nagorno-Karabakh: Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Day of liberation of the town of Shushi and Day of creation of the Defense Army of NKR.
On May, 8, representatives of the community in Stepanakert and guests who arrived to take part in the celebrations laid wreaths and flowers at the memorial to the soldiers and officers who perished during the Second World War and Karabakh war.
The actions devoted to May, 9, will still last in Nagorno-Karabakh today and end with a military parade, a festive concert and fireworks.
The Committee for organization of May holidays with the Government of NKR reports that as of today, 600 officially invited guests from Europe, America and other countries and over 600 foreign tourists arrived in the republic.
“All the hotels, holiday centers, private guest houses in Stepanakert, Shushi and other districts are packed”, a source in the Government said.
