Bloggers of Northern Caucasus suggest working out their own ethic charter
Bloggers of Northern Caucasus suggest working out a Charter of a responsible blogger whose participants would take the responsibility to abstain from offence on ethnic, religious of race grounds. This motion was advanced at a meeting of the bloggers of Northern and Southern Caucasus.
The participants of the discussion suggested to base it on the Charter of Journalists’ Ethics. They started its consideration after a brief analyses of intercommunications among conflict regions of the Caucasus.
In the bloggers’ opinion, “today we need a platform to organize such intercommunications for discussion of complex problems which would secure respect among the interlocutors and eliminate offence”.
Participants from the republics of Northern Caucasus (Dagestan, Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Chechnya, North Ossetia) and Southern Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia and Abkhazia) and Moscow as well came to the meeting. The discussions were held in the settlement of Djeirakh, Ingushetia, from May, 4, till May, 7.
On the second day of the conference representatives of Live Journal company arrived to inform the bloggers on the innovations expected to appear in “Live Journal” in the nearest future.
“We want to help those whose blogs have one hundred visitors to raise this number to 1000 and those having one thousand up to 5 000”, Boris Barmin, Marketing Director of Cyrillic segment of Live Journal, declared during presentation of the updated version of LJ.
The Caucasian bloggers, in their turn, offered their projects to the management of the company, among them, promotion of news and video blogs of the Caucasus. They drew the company’s attention to joint actions of reporting on intercultural projects etc. Barmin promised to consider all the offers.
